Photography

Paris’s photography has earned wide recognition in its own right appearing in The Irish Times, The Tribune Magazine, and Asiana Magazine, among others. In 2013 she was invited to join Getty Images, and more recently her photo Woman in the Window (see World Shots) was selected by the Duncan Miller Gallery in Los Angeles for worldwide distribution.

An award-winning artist, Paris placed third in the UK’s Irish in Britain photographic competition in 2009 with her portrait Adrian Dunbar with Harry and Tea (see Into the Light), which was later exhibited at the Irish Embassy in London.

Working almost exclusively with available and natural light, Paris is known for her ability to draw out authentic moments from the people she photographs.

Paris has undertaken volunteer photography for several dance companies, including the London Children’s Ballet, and has also photographed prominent public figures such as Archbishop Desmond Tutu during his visit to London.

Into the Light:
Faces of Ireland

Into the Light; Faces of Ireland brings together Irish Survivors of institutional abuse and professional Irish actors—placing them side by side to share voice, space, and dignity. It hopes to transform silence into visibility and shame into strength.
